I was accepted to Georgetown (SFS) EA. I am going for sure, no question. My enrollment form and deposit are in and I am not applying any where else. However, USC and the UC's had deadlines before I received my acceptance. How do I pull my applications from their consideration ( I don't want to take someone's spot)? Do I call or write a letter? What is the protocol?

When you apply they send you an email about what to do? It's best to call them next year when they reconvene.

i'll check their websites. I just don't want them to waste time reviewing my application or taking the place of someone who really wants to go there (not that I am assuming I will get in, but just in case)

Send them a letter via the post office.
Pat on the back for doing the right thing.

thanks!
there is a little bit of satisfaction in turning the process around.

haha, tell me about it..
anyways, yeah, i actually think an email will do.

Fax will do.

so basically there is no "right way," just do it :)

My son sent an email to pull an application. Very simple, just told them he'd been accepted ED somewhere else. He quickly received a "thank you for letting us know!" email in response. That was it.

There is no point in prolonging it. Just email them or call them and ask them what you should do. They will respond and you will be fine :D

thanks, I was just checking to make sure there wasn't a more polite way of declining or if one way was rude. you never know with admissions. sometimes everything feels a little arbitrary and I wouldn't want to offend anyone.
o and Merry christmas (happy holidays :) )

Did anyone get an email back from the UC's? I emailed USC about withdrawing and got a response very quickly, but not the UC's...
