I'm IN!

btw wut other schools did u apply to or get into?

I started really thinking of Indiana in mid-September, when I learned about the Wells Scholarship, thinking I had a chance at that. Unfortunately, I didn't send in my materials, backing out at the last moment, because I thought I didn't meet minimum requirements and believing that I wasn't going to receive the scholarship. I still applied though, because I knew it was a good school that offered sport management, was close to home, and I knew i'd be admitted there.

Then I started learning more and more about IU; How it's peer assessment grade is the 3rd highest on my list (behind MI and WI), how fantastic the business school is, and got excited about going there. I am interested in business and sport management, and there are only 3 other schools that are better than Indiana that offer that combination (UM, NYU, UTexas).

Then I had an admissions counselor visit my school, and I was about the only person in the room who was actually interested and not trying to get out of class (as well as another girl I know who has been accepted and i've become friends with). He told me about the faculty scholarships, Kelley Direct Admit, and dual majoring.

So after the visit, I started seriously looking into the business school, and I learned of these scholarships - the Kelley Scholars one. It was mid-October, so too late for the ACT retake, since I applied mid-September.

I took the SAT, but my score was equivalent to a 27 on the ACT. I didn't prep for either test, rather just did it early in the morning after hockey. I don't think that prepping for tests really helps that much.

Other colleges applied to: UM, Miami FL, Syracuse, Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan State. I regret applying to Syracuse, since there's no way i'm going there. But I didn't pay for the application fee. I wish I could have applied to Texas, but I wouldn't be able to go there. I also won't be able to go to Miami FL. I have parents who don't want to send me far or expensive. However, i'm leaving out hope for good aid packages somewhere.

Accepted yesterday, found out online! No email or packet yet.

SAT: 1290
ACT: 30
uwGPA: 3.5 (89.5)
3 APs, one Syracuse University class. 3 honors classes.

ThespianDreams - Look forward to a 7K per year scholarship, as well as more scholarship oppurtunities with an ACT like that.

Finally got my email, still waiting on the packet... just was notified of a 10,000 a year scholarship to Illinois Inst of Tech.

WOW! Congrats on your scholarship!

I find this weird how I knew I was in from my online check around 5 days before they sent me an email saying im in -_-.

it's been 11 days since I found out online... and I just got the email today.

woo $28,000 faculty scholarship!!!

so you have $38,000. total award? Congrats that is a happy thing for you.

noooo the other scholarship was to IIT... not related to this school

W00t! I got my 28,000 Scholarship! Voila! Now this makes indiana more tempting to illinois... unless they can match this :)

Dang, they are just dishing out these 28K scholarships, lol

Congrats HauckT! I didn't see the 28K scholarship post.

im in too, but i still haven't gotten my letter. poo.

congrats guys!

I just got in, I found out online, no email yet. But I'm going into music performance, so I still have to audition for the music school.

i just found out i got in, first school ive been accepted too other than chico
i dont know if i got a scholarship yet, where do you check that?
i had a 2.7 and 2030 sat

Scholarship money comes with the admission packet in the mail. At least the Faculty Awards have been coming there. Also the SSA comes if you qualify for other scholarships as well. But with a 2.7, I don't know if you are getting too many scholarships.

yeah i know, i was just curious for other people i know. i dont think i even applied for any scholarships or financial aid

Your application for admission automatically gives you consideration for the majority of scholarships, including the Faculty Awards. Financial aid can be applied for using the FAFSA.
