I'm Jewish, Applying to Catholic Schools

I'm applying to Chapman University and Loyola Marymount University. I saw on the Chapman application that it asked for your religion. I didn't get to see the Loyola application yet. I plan on putting that I attend temple on the activities section on both. Does being Jewish give me an advantage and if so, how big? I live in NY, the colleges are in CA.

My daughter has some friends who are Jewish guys at a great Catholic school with few Jewish students and they they both think being Jewish gave them a bit of an advantage during the admissions process. Colleges like to add to their diversity.

I think being a different religion then the one the university associates themselves with gives you a little advantage on being accepted…my son is Roman Catholic and he was straight up rejected by Loyola-Marymount but accepted by Chapman and Cal Lutheran…go figure.

yes, I think it wd be an asset to your app. (good) colleges such as the ones you listed, want a mosaic on their campuses.

Definately advantagious to be Jewish. Btw, isn’t Jesus Jewish?
