I'm kinda nervous

I’d just like to know what you guys think my chances for RD at BU are…thanks in advance!

[ul]Stats:
[] SAT I (by section): 690 CR, 760 M (horrid curve, I only missed 1), 770 W E:10 (2220 Composite)
[] SAT IIs: 670 Chem (:(), 710 US History, 720 Math I
[] APs: No AP tests, but I’ve taken the following AP classes - Calc AB, Chemistry, Statistics, Economics, World History, Physics C, and taking AP Gov and Politics (US) next semester
[] GPA: UW 3.75 (out of a max of 4.0), W 4.17 (out of a max of 4.45) with an upward trend
[] Specific Grades:
[]In AP classes: 4 A’s, 1 B, and 1 C (sdlkafsjdflksjdflsdfj…I was .1% away from a B and my counselor put that in his rec)
[]In honors courses: 8 A’s, 2 B’s
[]In regular classes: 11 A’s, 2 B’s
[] Rank: I’m like 12%, but it’s reported as second decile, so top 20% (first decile is reported as starting at 4.19 W)
[] Other stats: MUN and FBLA awards
[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] ECs listed on app: 4 years MUN (some weird leadership position), 4 years Econ Club (co-president), 2 years student government (head of freshmen class), 2 years School Newspaper, 2 years FBLA, 2 years TSA, 180 hours of community service (volunteer counselor), published in school’s literary magazine, NHS, Rec. soccer/basketball
[] Job/Work Experience: Soccer stuff
[*] Essays (subject and responses): My BU supplemental essays were pretty solid, in my opinion, but nothing absolutely spectacular. My EC short answer was well-written, but, again, nothing spectacular. I submitted my BU application a while ago, so I have an older version of my common app essay so I can’t say that it’s spectacular, but I’d like to say that it certainly will not hurt me (unless they dislike its odd style)[/ul]

What school withing BU are you applying to? It makes a significant difference

College of Arts and Sciences.

Dude don’t worry you’re in for sure. Your gpa alone would have gotten you in with a **** SAT score, and vice versa (my case: **** gpa, good SAT’s).

Well that made me a little less nervous :).

Just cause you have the GPA and the SAT scores does NOT make you acceptable to any school. There have been many reported cases of people with very high SAT scores that do not make it to all school. A friend who had a 2282 did not make it to BU, and she also had a slightly higher GPA than I do.

I do think you will be fine however - along with your high scores and grades, it seems you have challenged yourself with the tougher courses that your school has to offer. You also got a lot of extracurricular activities which only boosts your app. As long as your personal essay reflected who you are as a person and/or how you will make an impact once entering the university, I do think you will be alright.

goodluck.

I hate ppl like you.

I, and they, may wonder why you didn’t take any AP tests. The fact that you have a recommendation from your “C” is a definite plus.
No, I don’t hate people like you.
I call you a strong match, for what it’s worth.
Good luck!
