Yeah so theres this girl i really like and well long story short i'm getting mixed signals from her, one of her friends gave me her sn but i'm not going to im her because idk i feel shes way out of my league and to make matters worse shes my lab partner in AP Bio and i forgot to record some data for a lab thats worth a huge portion of our grade and now im not quite sure what to do should i im her or not idk grrr im just soo confused atm idk

Go for it. It's really not that hard. If you get rejected, what's the worst that can happen?

Just go for it. (Most) girls aren't as mean-spirited as (most of) the boys here think we are.

Wait, she's your lab partner? Sounds like a perfect opportunity to strike up conversations, if you ask me. Also, make sure to ask her for her screename yourself before you IM her (which you should do). That displays confidence, whereas IM-ing her before she knows who you are can come off as creepy.

As for the whole lost data thing, there's two ways you can spin that. Either use it as a jump-off point into a discussion about how unfair the teacher is and how you're both victims, or tell her you forgot to write it down because you were noticing what she'd done with her hair that day.

In any case, no one is ever out of anyone's league unless one of them is a stuck-up git, in which case you wouldn't want to go out with her anyway. You've got as much of a shot as anyone. Good luck.

1) Ask in person.
2) Get the data from someone else.

You sound like too much of a nice guy though, and we all know where nice guys finish :P

I disagree.

Of course you disagree. You cut off more than half the sentence.

i forgot to mention the lab reports due tomorrow and it was group specific data that i forgot to right down :/ and only she would have it

If only she would have it that's all the more reason to talk to her.

and i guess its not like i went through a million ppl to get it her sn that is one of her best friends gave it to me and was like im her but i guess im just self conscience and stuff like that

Risking her grade to deflation WILL definently **** her off, thus she will sense contempt toward you. As a sidenote, don't be a weirdo and IM her without acknowledging her.

Good Luck!

But that doesn't change the fact that I read it. :)

Haha, fair enough. I suppose it was something of a hyperbole on my part, but I do think that high school social classes are less rigid than they are made out to be, although that view is colored by my own personal experiences and observations.

I felt similarly about some rich kids from a big city school that gave me their SNs at a scholarly gathering deally. Anyway, I send them all instant messages when I see them on, and most of them only talk if they have to. Some people are just like that. Just try it and see.

rejection is a pain in the ass! This girl I liked totally blew me off at every attempt to get to know her better, lol. But I don't care: I'm way out of her league :D
