Will my chances increase if I get my SAT I to 1800+? If so, how much?

Thanks for any contributions.

Due in part due to URM, and also due to your well-rounded ECs, virtually all of your choices will be a mid to low reach or match. If you can boost it to 1800+, you would have an even better chance, and if you somehow get 2100+, I would even consider applying to Stanford (hey, you never know!)

Thanks for your thoughts!

Your URM status will not work for you at the CA state schools or UCs. You will need the stats everyone else has which makes UCLA an extreme reach and Davis and Irvine reaches. Riverside is a match, but do you really want to spend $200K to go there?

Given that these schools would cost you $47K/yr, almost as much as private colleges, I would consider replacing them with private colleges which can give you a boost for URM status, access to financial aid and where being from Hawaii will also benefit you.

Good points hmom.

Thanks a lot for your insight.

I forgot to add that I am a first generation college student. Wont mean much, but just to let everyone know.

you really need to raise your SAT/gpa. your ec’s aren’t all that spectacular either… (also 2 on ap?!) anyways, since I have no idea how your SAT I/SAT IIs are going to turn out, I can’t accurately chance you. however, I can say that you have very good hooks (ethnicity. first gen.)
