Let's just say i screwed up in high school. Pretty bad actually. Had a 1.8 GPA, 1360 SAT score.. Let's just say i really didn't give a ****. Well a realization came along and thank God it did. I know what i have to do, what i NEED to do. I really would love to transfer for my sophomore year to an out of state University. Starting Sept. 5th i will be attending Ocean County College in New Jersey with 16 credits in my first semester. I know my high school GPA is low along with my SAT score but what are my chances in transferring out of state in a year. Working harder than hell. I'm shooting for at LEAST a 3.0 GPA. Finally it will be the first time i will be coming home with good grades and i will be taking school seriously. If i achieve this goal of receiving an average of a 3.0 GPA with a total of 30+ credits by the end of spring. What are my chances in getting accepted to an average Division 1 sports school out of state?

My top schools are..

James Madison University
East Carolina University
West Virginia University
University of Georgia
Clemson

Also do University's check your high school grades when applying as a college transfer? If so, I'm guessing it should be important to specifically make sure they know that I'm not going to pull that at their school?

Any other ideas of schools in my category that will be a solid fit for me? Preferably on the east coast.
