Am I going to regret it later on? I feel like I am since everyone makes it out to be such a big deal. I had a date and all, but she asked me on the last week before prom and I didn't buy prom tickets or rent a tux.

Don’t regret it…If you didn’t want to go then forget it…There is WAY to much conformity in high school. Just because 85% of people go and your friends go, doesn’t mean that you have to go if you don’t ENJOY the experience.

Prom is such a waste… spending so much money on tickets and a tux for only 2 or 3 hours of entertainment. Forget prom. Go to graduation and remember everything!

@hanana, what the devil (lol sorry censorship)? 2 am and they were forced to stay there? i would hate that

anyway, if you don’t want to go don’t. i know many kids that don’t go. i didn’t have fun at the last school dance i went to, so i’m not going to prom

^ Well, maybe it was 1am, it was either 1 or 2am. Of course they couldn’t just leave, or they could be leaving to go to wild after parties full of drinking games. And LOL they served alcohol there (yes, it wasn’t illegal after this complicated process).

@hanana, I still don’t get it. If they automatically assumed they were going to wild drinking parties (even though there was already alcohol there??), wouldn’t they make the same unfathomable assumption every day of school and never let them go home? Why wouldn’t they be able to go to sleep instead of staying there through the ungodly hours of the morning?

I think you’ll eventually regret it at some point. Probably not on a day-to-day, thought consuming basis, but when all your friends are reminiscing on prom, you’ll feel a bit left out.
