Class Rank and GPA are great. I would maybe try to score higher (around 1450-1500) on the SAT. Make sure to write concrete essays and you should be fine. OSS might put you at a disadvantage though.

Is that the old SAT or the New one?

Judging from the essay score it is the new SAT.

Yes, new SAT. Just got my June results UPDATE: 1420 superscore (760/M 660/WR 7/6/5 Essay)

There are so many BME applicants that you might want to apply as something else then switch majors

Tech doesn’t really consider major in admissions. What matters is your passion for that major and your ECs if they are any major related.

@indy101 yes they do consider major

@rokun123 Where are you getting that information? From what I have heard, tech does not have specific quotas they they need to maintain when admitting students.

I believe they consider the major for transfer students to see whether or not they have room to accept them for that particular major (only for transfer students). When applying for undergrad they don’t consider major but see whether or not you have at least prepared yourself by looking at the high school courses you have taken and are taking.

I’ve heard it from current tech students. I think I also heard it from the admissions counselor but cannot remember if I did or not. @indy101
