<p>got accepted to the Uni of Miami for my year abroad (im English)!</p>
<p>However i have found out that the uni is really all about clubbing etc, but i will only be 20 when im there!!! can you still get into clubs when your 20 or will i be....well....screwed!</p>
<p>You can get into some clubs. You will probably also be able to find as much alcohol as you want on campus at parties.</p>
<p>what about fake ID's??? are they easy to get or are the doormen/bar staff very strict?</p>

<p>I left you post in your other thread, but the campus has an alcohol problem, so basically anyone can easily get wasted.</p>

<p>You still have time to apply to some Canadian colleges...I'm pretty sure you'd be able to drink anywhere in Canada. It's slightly chillier up there than in Miami, however.</p>
<p>i agree with the above posters...alcohol is readily available on campus if you know who to talk to and where to go. parties galore, alcohol anytime you want basically. not from personal experience, but friends go to school there and love having access to stuff on campus. they can get into some clubs (18 years old) but usually stay on campus or go to the beach to have a party or get drunk. </p>
<p>be careful with fake ID's though. alot of places are using scanners to scan the barcode on back and most fakes can't beat that system.</p>
<p>but if its a fake english one then it shouldnt be a problem right? and also you guys are saying that, even if i cant get into clubs, i should still have an awesome time??? im real worried i'll become the outcast because im 21 at the end of my stay in the U.S so all the people in my year will be partying away!!!</p>

<p>For getting into clubs:</p>
<p>If you can get a fake English ID that says you are 21 you will be money. If they give you a hard time about it, you can always tell them that the only other form of ID you have is your passport and you sure as **** arn't going to bring your only ticket home out when you are getting trashed.</p>
<p>The other option (and I know this only worked for a little while at my school before the administration caught on) is that international students are sometimes issued different student ID's WHERE YOU PROVIDE YOUR OWN BIRTHDAY to the system, hence, instantly 21. But, if you've got an accent, and a legit looking English ID I still think you should be fine.</p>

<p>Don't worry, most kids that have fakes in Miami will know the clubs that are really strict down there and they usually let you know. 3rd years are usually only 20 so I wouldn't worry. And English FE students are kickass, you don't have to worry about being an outcast...as long as you're outgoing</p>
