Are there any colleges(not community colleges) that i can apply to??
....Would be greatly appreciated:)

Maria, you’re not dumb. Now, first of all, where did you get that GPA number? Check with your guidance counselor to make sure. Next, check with your in-state public schools to see what their criteria for admission is. Third, consider the idea of going to a community college for 2 years and then transferring to a 4-year college. Fourth, do a search on College Board or Princeton Review to find schools with GPA and test scores similar to yours.

Of course there is a school for you - you’ll find it.

Maria, take a look at Kean and William Patterson in NJ, University of Hartford in Ct, and Saint Thomas Aquinas, Dominican and Mount Saint Mary all in NY. Saint Thomas and Domincan are located in Rockland County near the Palisades Mall and Mount Saint Mary is near West Point. I agree with cmbmom. You will find the right school for you. Good luck!

thank you poi. i applied to Kean and began applying for William Paterson. thanks for the info on the other colleges..im researching on them now…prob will apply.

Don’t knock those community colleges! Some of them offer excellent educations at fractions of the costs of even state schools. And a year at a comm college might be just what you need to prepare you for the rigors (including spelling!) of the state or private university.

Maria, also check out St Johns, Neuman (in Pa near Philly), New England College in NH and the other Keene in NH. Some kids from our area go to Keene and love it. It is supposed to be very pretty

It sounds like you are on the right path now. You acknowledged that you didn’t do so well and are wanting to correct that (just by being on this site). I’d check out some local CC and concentrate on doing really well for 2 yrs by bringing up your gpa and getting your general ed done and then transferring.

Good luck, I’m sure you will do fine. It’s sounds like you are heading in the right direction.
