I'm not feeling good.

I HATE MY SAT SCORE!
And I have no more time to take it again. I got a 2270. 780 reading, 730 math, and 760 writing.

I hate it because I wanted the 800 in math! I dont care about the reading and writing! I want to be an engineer! Im afraid that the schools Im applying to wont like that math score.... so angry and fing *ed.

Before you guys start yelling at me, let me mention that my GPA sucks so I had intended to make my SAT look fantastics and make up for it.

Who's got advice for me? How can I compensate?

I agree. You should be angry. A 2270? 730 in math? That’s shameful. Study more.

I hope youre not mocking me.

No constructive advice? Never make a post like that again.

I thought it was appropriate. You should have an optimistic attitude. Dwelling on negative simply contributes to its power, and positive thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will. A 2270 is a good score. If you don’t get into a school, you should never blame your SAT score. Maybe you should take Nov and Dec tests…

Edit: Why can’t you take Nov and Dec tests?

I am applying to my schools in November. Wondering if an 800 math 2 will compensate for the math?

Okay. If you really feel that insecure with a 730 math, you can always take it again in Nov or Dec and send the score as a supplement to colleges. However, I do believe it’s enough. 800 Math 2C will definitely prove that you are capable in math. Don’t worry too much… Colleges are not everything in life…

Really? Colleges arent everything? What else is there at this point in life? McDonalds?

I lol’d when i saw your thread title because below it was the thread " I feel good thread"

yea, a 2270 isn’t the end of the world that’s an excellent score all around. You know how many person would kill for that score, like me  lol!

if you’re not feeling too good abt your score then just make sure you write a beast of an admissions essay and get some kick-ass recommendations

Haha thanks for the advice. And yea I made the title in response to the feel good title lol.

Really. Don’t obsess over colleges. IMO, success is not based on what SAT score you get, or which colleges you get accepted to, or even how much money you have. Be content with what you have, and I think that’s success… Maybe you can change your perception of success. Not everything in life is about materialistic things.

Btw, there’s nothing wrong with working at McDonalds as long as you’re happy working there. What would the world be without anyone working at McDonalds or Wal-Mart?

You have an interesting perspective. I agree with you, in that success is whatever makes an individual happy.

FOR ME, happiness is getting into a good college, becoming a mechanical and electrical engineer, and starting my own robotics company.

FOR ME, a 730 is not enough. The point of this thread is to help me compensate for my math score, not to try to change my point of view on success. Im pretty firm and clear on what I want.

I think 730 and 800 Math 2C is enough. More likely than not, you won’t be rejected from a college because you got a 730 on Math. I think they look at the scores as a whole. Besides, I don’t think there’s much you can do at this point…

Thanks. 10char

bump. help?

Go out, exercise, listen to music, or do whatever makes you feel good then. I do’t feel like there’s much point in worrying about it now. I thought the PSAT Math would be an easy 800 but no, I made at least 2 stupid mistakes. Stuff happens… just know that a 730 Math score won’t stop any of those goals you just mentioned.

If its really eating at you, find ways that show you’re mathematically capable - e.g. SAT II Test, AP’s etc…

Thanks man/woman. I guess youre right but it really suckkss

bump 10char

I’m in the exact same position on you. I got a 2280 on the October SAT, but a 730 in Math. I’m also applying to engineering schools. Anyways, I decided that retaking the whole SAT is just not worth it. I’m taking the MathIIC in November, and getting an 800 on it should be enough to compensate my SAT I math score.

their will always be people with a higher SAT score than you, you shouldn’t focus just on SAT’s because if you do you might be short handed. Your score is already good enough, just focus on your essay and extracurriculars to separate yourself from the crowd and you’ll be good. Honestly college is overrated. Besides education, you can still go to any college and fulfill your dreams if you work hard enough.

To respond to your “mcdonalds” quote, Bill Gates didn’t go to college haha. Steve Jobs went one year and dropped. Just dont get to hung up in college or you’ll realize in the future you’ve wasted your life.
