I'm only applying to Yale

Just Kidding, but please read anyways
Hi college confidential, I don't know much about colleges and figured that here was a good place to start. I'm a rising senior at The North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics (don't worry I'm only typing that once). NCSSM is a public boarding school(free) only for juniors and seniors. So, onto the stats...

Caucasian Male
North Carolina (obv)
Middle Class
SAT(2240)- M:800 V:700 W:740
GPA- UW:3.7 W:4.7
AP's- Stat(5), Calc BC(?), Chem(?)
plan on taking Sat II's in Math II, Chem, Physics

Courseload next year:
WECs (english class)
AP Econ
Multi-variable Calc
Graph Theory
Astrophysics
Intermediate Latin
AP Environmental Science
Senior Mentorship (going to be mentored in nuclear physics/energy by a professor at Chapel Hill)

EC's (I'll only list major ones) Pretty weak
Varsity Cross Country (9, 10, 11, 12)- co-captain, all-region(11), most improved(11), our team got 3rd at states(11)

Varsity Tennis (9, 10, 11, plan on 12)- 2nd at regionals, sportsmanship award(10), best sportsmanship(11), our team won states

RLA (Residential Life Assistant)- pretty big leadership role for our school. Two are assigned to each hall (37 kids) and are basically in charge of it.

some clubs (key, student body, math, etc.)
arranged a bingo night at a retirement home (key club)

Community Service: about 150 hours

student government (10,11)

Worked as a laboratory technician at a small company that creates solutions that degrade hydrocarbons. They also produce a biomechanical oil water separator for the bilge water on ships (work with the Navy, Carnival, BP, BC Ferries). (9,10,11)

Marketing Director at said company (summer between 11th and 12th)

Extra Info: My mom passed away from Breast Cancer in 2003 which hit me really really hard...depression ensued. My dad got re-married last year. My step-mom was recently diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer...irony. I have severe Obsessive Compulsive Disorder which really conflicts with academics and test-taking.

Chance me for:
UNC-Chapel Hill
NC State
Duke
Vanderbilt
Rice
Penn-Wharton or CAS (legacy)...no chance but w/e
University of Chicago
MIT- eh why not
UT-Austin (can I get any aid?, prob not)
Brown

I guess I would also like some suggestions so that I can refine my list. I'm looking for a private university that gives good financial aid and I have a reasonable chance of getting into, good in either physics or economics.
Thanks a lot for reading.

Here is how I would chance you:

Ivies + Top 20 Schools:

Duke: Have a fair shot
Rice: Really tough to say as I am not too familiar with Rice's admission: I would say wait-listed or rejected
Penn-Wharton or CAS: Wait-listed
University of Chicago: Good shot
MIT: It is going to depend on SAT II scores, honestly.
Brown: Rejected

UNC-Chapel Hill: I would say you're in
NC State: You're in
UT-Austin: You're in
Vanderbilt: You're in

This is going to be one of the toughest college admission years, as record numbers of applicants are going to be applying to the same schools. I just don't see a ton of stuff that stands out on your resume. Your GPA is a little low for top schools, but your SAT is outstanding. You're ECs are ok, but nothing extraordinary. But good luck and I hope you get into every single school on your list.

BTW, make sure to add one or two more safeties to your list. You have a good start with NC State, but I think you should add a couple more. (When picking safeties, you should feel that you have about a 99% shot at getting in!)

I'm not seeing the interest in humanities that is usual and appropriate for applicants to the UoC.

all right, thanks guys for the quick responses, any more?
