<p>Asian female attending a well known competitive public school.
GPA: unweighted - 3.9
Hardest work load possible. A fair amount of APs (not that many compared to CCers). 5s on all exams taken so far.
SAT: 650 CR (BOO!), 780 Math, 730 Writing
SAT IIs: 700 Biology, 730 US History
Recs: I expect them to be good/excellent
Essays: works in progress.</p>

<p>ECs:
I play five instruments. I'm very good at one of them and am going to send in a live recording of one of my concerts. I've done competitions, played at Carnegie Hall, and did competitive summer programs for it. I also play oboe -- it's an urban myth that if you play oboe, you can get in anywhere.
President of two clubs at school. Leadership in other stuff too. I do mostly fun things/stuff I'm really interested in. No academic extracurriculars other than MUN, which isn't exactly academic.
NO sports</p>

200+ hours of community service
300+ hours of work at a research lab (summer job)</p>

<p>crystal~ i think you have a decent shot! you sound a lot like my graduated UVA d. she was a serious musician, tho not a music major. it was her primary focus, as it is yours. taking the “hardest work load possible” is extremely important for UVA admission. good luck!</p>
