I'm posting this everywhere I can for FSU students.

If you Haven't checked your email yet, this is what FSU sent out to all the students.

This message has been approved by Vice President for Student Affairs Mary
Coburn:

Dear Students:

In the wake of the tragedy that occurred at our sister ACC institution, Virginia
Tech, FSU asks each student immediately to follow the web link below in order to
record your mobile phone number. FSU will use this number only in extreme
emergency to send text messages directly to you. Please help FSU be able to
inform you immediately of circumstances where the safety of campus locations is
in question.

Please register your mobile/cell phone number at this address:

It's a message, for everyone to go to the your student blackboard and update your cell phone number so FSU can send you a text message incase of a on campus emergency. Everyone who encourage your friends and classmates to update their information.

If something like VT happened at FSU, I would want to be notified so I can stay alert and safe.

This could of saved lives at VT so lets help FSU help us.

Update your info please. It just takes a second.

SPREAD THE WORD TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS!!

Great idea. I posted this in the Parent Cafe. Now all us alumni can bug the various administrations to action.

recieved one on FaCEBOOK. LOL tHANKS :)

They also have a place to put an emergency email address and instant messenger account. Good idea for them to have lots of ways to contact you in an emergency.

Looks like throughout Florida there is a reaction to the horrible events. We received a phone message from the President of UCF this evening, telling all students that a task force has been formed to study the reaction plan and communication system and propose changes as required.

It is somewhat ironic, we just returned from Norfolk on Sunday after visiting my son and daughter in law. Both had graduated from James Madison about 1 hour north of Blacksburg. We actually went to VT a couple of times to watch him run track for JMU.
