This might be a dumb question, but when a college says they accept score choice for the SAT, does this mean they also accept score choice for SAT Subject Tests? Or does it mean that they only accept it for SAT I?
I’ve checked through all of the colleges I’m applying to, and only about three of them explicitly say they accept score choice for SAT II tests, so I’m a little hesitant. If no one knows for sure, I’m probably going to sit down after school one day and ring up all these colleges to check.
Admissions generally state they accept the highest achieved score for standardized tests. Some universities like Georgetown look at all scores and make a determination.
@privatebanker I have realized that, but I’m asking if when a college says “Yes, we do accept score choice for the SAT,” if it encompasses SAT II tests as well.
Georgetown is the only college in the US left that requires you to provide all subject test scores.
Nevertheless, be aware that withholding scores through the testing agency does not necessarily mean the college will not learn of your scores. Many high schools put all your scores on the official high school transcript sent to colleges, so you need to determine what your high school does if you are considering withholding scores by not ordering them sent through the SAT testing agency, College Board (or ACT if you took ACT tests).
They would take the one that OP chooses to send through Score Choice.
OP, I think it’s safe to assume Score Choice applies to Subject Tests if specified for “SAT”. Do the schools even require/recommend them? That may be why it’s not mentioned.
Even a school like CMU that requires all SAT or ACT scores allows Score Choice on Subject Tests. As mentioned, Georgetown seems to be the only exception, because they’re special…
If you want to know for sure, you will need to contact the schools - no one here can speak for the schools and “someone on the internet told me” wouldn’t be a valid response if something goes wrong.
