i would try my chances at EA but if you get deffered i think all those EC's will surely get you in RD. Mind you I'm just another high school kid so i don't know how valid my suggestion is. In either case best of luck.

If you get denied at the EA stage, then your not allowed to apply for RD, just keep that in mind. I just recently attended "Explore UGA", which is a tour of the campus, several seminars regarding admissions, financial aid, different majors, scholarships, etc. At EA they only look at 3 things: Rigor of classes (they perfer 3-7 AP classes), GPA, and staderdized tests scores (i.e. SAT and ACT).

At RD decsion, though, they look at everything:Rigor of classes, GPA, SAT-ACT, EC's, essays, recommendations, etc.

I think that you should take the ACT or SAT at least one more time, and prep your brains out for it. A 25, in my mind, would not cut it. With a 28+ on the ACT I think you've definitely got a good chance. For the Honor's program, though, your going to have to kick up to about a 31~32+ and a 4.0 GPA.

Like ^^ I am also a highschool student, but as I said I've heard it from the top dawgs (lol) about what they desire most in a student.

You cannot get the honors program with those stats; however, you can do pre-med w/out the honors program. You need to take the SAT in Sept and see how you do on that. I mean this in a good way, but it will help that you are an Asian female, as UGA strives for a diverse array of students.

yeah rebel is right if you get denied at EA u can't apply again but you might also get deffered which means you have to then fill out the extra curriculur part of the application. So never mind what I said before just try you luck at RD as during EA they only look at academics.

If you have decent stats you will not be denied EA; you will likely be deferred (most people are deferred at this point). If you get in, you save a ton of paperwork. If you are denied, you are most likely someone who would have been denied at RD, so it's the same result, just earlier.

UGA has a medical program?
yeah, i dont know anyone who got rejected EA, but u might wanna check on that. EA is for ppl who have the numbers, so high SAT, high GPA, high AP scores, etc etc, the application takes abt 15 min tops. the RD application from what ive heard is for ppl who want to show the school more than their academics, so ECs, essays, etc..so u should prob apply RD if UGA actually does reject applicants in EA (which i havent heard but check that out, i could be wrong)

I know that last year, if you applied ED and didn't make it, you could update your app for RD.

EA candidates are either accepted, rejected, or deferred (and can then go RD). RD are either accepted, rejected, or wait listed.
