I feel I have no chance at these schools anymore....

University of Miami
UC Santa Barbara
Pepperdine University
San Diego State University
Indiana University

Can you think of any schools I have a decent shot at getting in to??

Thanks...

Oh also can you add the University of Florida.

So here is my list.

University of Miami

UC Santa Barbara

University of Florida

Pepperdine University

San Diego State

Indiana University

I assume most of you have some experience with college admissions, so I value all of your opinions. So with your knowledge can you estimate which schools I will get into or rejected from?

Thanks, and if you can think of any other great schools, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again

If you apply to Indiana, you will get an acceptance in 3 weeks.

You will get into SDSU.

You're iffy on the rest.

There is your answer.

It won't change if you ask another 400 times.

SoCal -- If your school's college guidance office has scattergrams showing the GPA's and SAT's of past students for all of the different schools where alumni have applied and been accepted or rejected, you should go take a look. See where you fit in on the scattergrams for the colleges you're considering. This will give you a more realistic sense of where you stand. There are many, many colleges that will be happy to have you! If you haven't done so already, it is time to sit down with your GC and get his or her suggestions for places that are matches and realistic reaches for you.

^^ My school probably doesn't off stuff like that, but I'll check it out. And my gc is stupid. She doesn't even know that the UC's cap their gpa.

Also I'm interested in ASU, I'm assuming it is a safety since they accept 92% of their students....

You can use Garfield's scattergrams as a base. https://connection.naviance.com/fc/signin.php?hsid=garfield

Enter as guest

Why don't you apply to ASU and find out if you can get in? Why don't you apply to Indiana and find out? Why don't you apply to other schools and find out?

You may have already missed it but Indiana gives scholarships to kids that apply early. Arizona does too.

Duiring the months that you have been asking the same questions, I know people that have applied and already been accepted at Indiana, Colorado, Arizona, and other places.

What's your real story?

University of Miami

UC Santa Barbara

University of Florida

Pepperdine University

Those 4 schools are still iffy. Oh wait....

Nevermind. :) :) :)

I'm a Junior....

Lol.....................................................

SoCal18, you wrote in your first post ...
"My Chances...

I want to apply to: UCSD, UCSB, UCI, Cal Poly, SDSU, UCSC, and maybe UCLA, but I probably have no chance there.

So Here Are My Stats...

10th Grade:
Video Production A/A
Biology B/A
Spanish 2 A/A
English A/A
HL Pre-Calc B/B
Geometry (Summer School) B/C
W GPA = 3.666666667

11th Grade:
HL Spanish 3 A/A
AP Calculus A/A
Journalism A/A
HL Chemistry B/A
AP US History B/B
AP English B/A
W GPA = 4.5000

With the toughest schedulue possible my gpa is.....
UC GPA (8 Semester Cap) = 3.9166

I should get ELC bc my class has like 730 students and every year only about 17 students get 4.00 and above and my weighted gpa is 4.083 which is used when determining the ELC (Top 4%)

SAT 1 = 1880 M(690), V(580), W(610)
I got this w/out studying so I'm hoping for 2000+ on my next one
SAT 2 = Math2(650), Chem(650)

Senior Schedule: AP Gov/Econ, AP Psychology, AP Stats, AP English, Spanish 4, Journalism

EC's: Key Club (Vice President), CSF, Journalism (Editor), Tennis, Relay4Life, Sign Language Club, Volleyball Club (Treasurer) + Numerous awards for tennis and academics

I would rank them like this for me:
UCLA - Super Reach - 10% Chance
UCSD - Reach -25% Chance
UCSB/UCI - Slight Reach - 40% Chance
Cal Poly/UCSC - Match - 50% Chance
SDSU - Safety -70% Chance

Do you guys think I chanced my self correctly, if not can you give me my chances (with percents, if you want to)??"

I just made up things in that post.

University of Miami - Target to Reach (UM's getting pretty popular)
UC Santa Barbara - Target to Reach
Pepperdine University - Reach
San Diego State University - I have no clue.
Indiana University - I have no clue.

You go dstark!! Excellent detective work! Good luck getting any help on this board now, SoCal.

SoCal, you have some reaches and some safeties on your list. A good thing. Most people are nervous about their reaches. You might get in, you might not. Nobody can tell you anything more useful than that. They are reaches and they will stay reaches, no matter how many people you ask. A teacher of mine had a good analogy for something like this.
