I'm retaking a class that I failed Junior year. Can I still put that grade on my college application

Last year I failed my first semester of pre-calculus and I'm retaking it online at the moment. I don't know If I will be able to finish by November 20 because that's when all the UC's and CSU application deadlines are. Will I be able to submit my grade after that or do I have to finish it before? What do all the other students do when they retake a class their senior year? Thanks!

I am only aware of retaking a class at the same high school - in which case your guidance counselor would have the course on your transcript and would submit an interim grade for your applications. Since this is an online course, your best bet would be to go to your guidance counselor and ask his or her advice.

I spoke to my counselor before I did this. He gave me a list of online course that UC’s accept.

I believe UC accepts based on 10-11 grades ONLY. If your school is kind, they may have changed the F to an Incomplete (it may be against policy to do this- in fact it probably is) so it does not bring down your average. UC would ask for senior-year grades later. You may wish to explain it in the space they give for additional information (just a few characters allowed in the field, but it should be enough). If you DO finish the course before the deadline, you may be able to squeeze the information in.
