So I'm running for a Student Body position. And I need speech ideas?? I dont wanna be boring, and probably want to be funny. any ideas?? any of you guys ran for office and have some sample speeched??

Yup, ran for office quite a few times...won each time
You just need to remember, no one gives a you know what. Its all a popularity contest. So my only advice is tell them what they want to hear, convince the smart ones you will do an awesome job and change things for the better. Don't promise anything, keep everything general.
Good luck!

hopefully you are good at telling stupid jokes. at my school, a kid said that god will save a kitten for every vote he gets. people thought it was funny, and what do you know, he made it.

I think giving stuff out is kinda lame, and border-line unethical. You will need to give out A LOT to have any effect, and this will be costly, making it rather unfair. It will just end up the rich kid buying their seat. At my school there are lots of rich kids, though, so all of their freebies canceled out and lost any effectiveness.

Do something funny and unique, but do not take it seriously, and kids will like you.

This one girl at my school a group of her friends sing “Sexyback” by Justin Timberlake with her, but put her name in. So it was like “we’re bringing sarah back” etc etc in the song. People liked it.

This sums it up for me too. Humor is good. We had to give speeches on the announcements and I said something like “and here are a generic list of adjectives: x, y, z, dashingly handsome, and most importantly, normal” which wasn’t that funny or anything but then the girl after me actually gave a list of adjectives to describe herself…
