I'm scared for my future

I think that it was Bill Belichick, the coach of the New England Patriots, who said essentially “all we can do is do the best that we can for the next game”. One game at a time, that is how he does it. Of course one game at a time is all that it took him to be considered one of the best ever.

All you can do it take things one week at a time, and one semester at a time. Do the best that you can. Show up for class. Pay attention in class. Keep ahead in your reading. Keep ahead in your homework. Do your homework at close as possible to the day that it is assigned.

If you keep this up, in the end you will do very well.

Also, it appears that stress is getting to you. The entire US education system puts way too much stress on all of our students. You should see if there are counselors in your school who can help you. There should be people that you can talk to whose job is specifically to help students deal with stress.

Pharmacy is easy as heck. I already an A+ in chem honors (last and this semester) (my favorite subject) and Physic cp is a normal level class.

@MYOS1634 okay, I’m taking Chem honors and I have an A+ all last semester and this semester :). Pharmacy at my school is really easy and I really wanted to take this since my freshmen year. The Physics I’m taking a regular normal class. If i really really really enjoy that subject by the end of my junior year, maybe I’ll take AP. I dont know

@DadTwoGirls Thank you so much

Also, I’m taking a summer class and bridge classes to help me out better in Chemistry

In all honesty, the only reasons why I struggled was my mental health and that I didn’t know how to handle my sports and classes. But my school is changing their schedule to block schedule. (Meaning that I’m only taking 3 classes each day, 1 hour and 27 minutes each, and I’ll get out at 12:43 pm which makes me so so so happy. Considering that I always get out around 2:45 pm and that always gets me tired/stressed out.)

^That’s great.
Make sure you have your foreign language level covered.

Listen, no one acts as though you failed every class. I have been harsh in no way. I have tried to give you encouragement and advice. I commended your maturity in my first post and suggested you create a balanced college list in my second. I wished you good luck. You might benefit from talking to a therapist because it seems clear that you have some unresolved issues. You asked for advice and people have given you advice. No one here is being unhelpful or rude. Please don’t bite the hand that feeds you.

Your future will not be dependent on one bad semester in high school. Your future will depend on choices you make as you go forward. Learn from the past and be proactive in shaping your future. You can’t change what’s done.

Berkley and UCLA are out of reach, may look into schools in surrounding states like NAU,Arizona, Arizona St, UNLV, Nevada, Oregon State, etc. How much can you afford a year?

@JackM82 I don’t think I can go out of state honestly

@MYOS1634 thank you! I have been taking Spanish since 7th grade, a high school Spanish 1 class in 8th grade, this will be my 4th and final year.

Good :slight_smile:
Why can’t you go out of state (health, cost…?)

@MYOS1634
My parents don’t want me to go out of state and it costs a ton enough to dorm in a college thats in CA.

@plzacceptmeucs I know you said this won’t be an issue with your school changing to a block schedule, but if you begin to feel overwhelmed again you should make sure that you have your priorities straight. In my case I played three sports throughout high school, one in each season. During my Junior year I was taking a lot of APs and was beginning to struggle with time management as I was playing sports that would cause me to get home at 6:00, then I would eat and do work until I slept. This wasn’t sustainable so I ended up not playing Basketball during Winter Term in order to give myself a break. What I am trying to get across to you is that, if you have to choose between your mental health or trying to play sports and balance academics, you should definitely decide to quit a sport. Remember you can always go back to it senior year, like I did for basketball. You have gotten a lot of great advice on this thread. Good Luck!

Thank you! I’ll keep that in mind @Undecided3494
