I have been making a lot of posts on here lately, and I know that a lot of you might be getting annoyed with my worrying. But, thanks to those of you who respond.

I am a sophomore, and I have SO many B's and thanks to AP European History...I have a C. Hopefully everything balances out, but this card marking I have a C, for the other markings my grade was a B-. So yeah, I am struggling like I never had before.

So, could some current students, or people who know current students who were accepted at Yale with a lower GPA for Yale (3.5-3.8), but had GREAT extracurriculars (Music, sports or other stuff), Science projects, good essays, interview, recs, URM status or other factors.

That’s what I did, and I got rejected from MIT lol.
I was sad for a bit, but I soon got over it; if you’re not meant to go somewhere, you’re not meant to go somewhere.

Work hard and be yourself. If colleges can’t see how unique you are, then whatever.

Yes - I am quoting Jennifer Lopez, but you have to admit, that does make a lot of sense. We can worry, we can rant, but ultimately, we have no control over every facet of our lives.

So - I say, be yourself, don’t let any rejections (or the possibility of a rejection) hurt you (it’s easier said than done, trust me, I’ve had first hand experience) and believe in your destiny, because whichever college you eventually attend, I’m sure you’ll shine.

APPLY! Even if you get another B or whatever, APPLY APPLY APPLY! If you don’t, you definitely won’t get in.

Students with similar stats as you describe above have gotten in, and while your transcript is important, we do practice a holistic admissions process. If your essays, recommendations, extracurriculars, and science projects are good, then you definitely have a shot. Don’t let yourself get psyched out by everyone else’s “stats.” Everyone is unique and not having a 4.0 doesn’t make you an automatic reject. Trust me.
