I'm hopeless...I just got my dec. scores back and my highest scores put together is a 1790...this flipping brings down ALL my chances at the schools i want to go to...
-Cornell
-NYU
-UCLA
-UCB
-UCI
-UCSD
-Pepperdine
-BU
-USC
-JHU
-Pomona

And my gpa is a 3.5 UW and 4.0 W...I've improved my way up from 9th grade to 12th grade increasing from 0 honors and APs 9th grade to 3 honors 10th, and then 1 honors and 2 APs, to 5 APs senior year. And my ecs. aren't that bad either. I've volunteered towards things mainly focusing in on the arts and have been involved in the schools varsity tennis team and science olympiad (we went to state this year in like 8 years) Some of my essays are above average to possibly excellent...

My friend just told me to withdraw all my apps. and attend a cc cause I have NO shot at any of these schools. I'm horrified at this situation right now...So much for Christmas and the New Years...

your friend is not that friendly.
revamp your list if you can, or if you can't than just apply, it can't hurt you. however, Cornell, NYU, UCLA, UCB, JHU and Pomona seem like really high reaches. i hope your ECs are good enough to knock someone's socks off

most likely they won't, especially the selective ones.
but you can try and contact them and ask if you can rush the january ones to meet the deadline.

1890 is not that bad, and it definitely doesn't immediately kill your chances. What was your M+V? My sister never broke 1300 on the old sat's and she got into BU with some scholarship action if that helps boost your morale any. Second, if you practice, you can definitely raise that score. From my psat to my composite score on the sat's, i went up 400 points, and it's quite honestly nothing but practice and dedication.

the thing is..i know that practice is essential, but i don't think these schools accept the jan. sat...i guess i'll have to put all my effort into my essays...ahhh...this feeling...this gut-bursting feeling is such a torment...
