I'm sick.. and I have an AP exam tomorrow

Hey guys,

A few days ago, I caught a cold and now it is at its peak. My throat hurts, my nose is stuffed, and I can’t focus at all. Moreover, yesterday night I caught a stomach virus that made me get up at 4AM in the morning in excruciating pain. I vomited at school because I had to go today for a math test that I couldn’t make up. I’m not doing this to get out of an exam; I took AP Bio on Monday, Spanish on Thursday, and USH on Friday, so I have my hardest exams out of the way. The only one I have tomorrow is the relatively easy exam of Statistics, and Macro the day after that. My dad emailed my AP coordinator as we called CB who said that it was a valid excuse given that I had a doctor’s note.

I am now studying for Stats again as my coordinator may not let me take the late date. Even if she does let me take the late date, should I take it or not?

Thanks

Sounds like you are taking the wise approach and trying to prepare since you don’t have an answer from your AP coordinator yet. If it can be rescheduled, by all means take the test at a later date, if it can’t be rescheduled I would recommend going ahead and trying the best that you can. You never have to report the score to anyone if you aren’t satisfied with the test score. Also, if your school only weights the semester grades for AP classes if you take the test (this is what my daughter’s school does), then you will get your overall grade weighted regardless of how you do on the test.

Thanks @NorthernMom61 - I know I can do well on it because I have gotten straight 5s on all of my practice tests; I’m just scared that I won’t be able to focus.

You may feel quite a bit better by tomorrow too. You will probably do fine.
