Hi,
Right now I attend the University of Texas and wish to transfer to either Johns Hopkins, the University of Virginia, or the University of Chicago. I have a 3.8, am active in several organizations, and will be hopefully be doing undergraduate research next semester. I can also get several good recommendations. Can anyone from or knowledgable about the above schools analyze my chances a bit? Oh yeah, I'm a biology (but with no intention of doing pre-med) major.

Can you provide more information like how long you've been there, what state you are a resident of, High School GPA and SAT, etc. From what you wrote I'd guess you have a good shot at UVA.

yeah; ive been at UT for 1 1/2 years now, i plan to transfer my junior year. My SAT scores could be better - 1210, so I will probably just re-take them; why not. I am a resident in texas right now, and my high school GPA was like a 4.8. Ive been involved in the university - i was a copy editior for the school news paper for a while (probably surprising since my messages are likely full of mistakes; ive changed my major since then) and i know several professors who will write me recommendations.
Thanks a bunch!
