I'm sick of the ACTs

Every time I take the ACTs, I come out thinking I did great, with the exception of one section which I bomb, because I'm tired.

Then the results come...

All the scores are less than expected. My scores aren't consistant from test to test, one test a section may be my highest-scoring-section, the next my lowest.

When I get the TIR back, I realize how many dumb mistakes I made, and that I really understood all material, just carelessness hurt my score.

Anyone else experience this wonderful phenomenon?

Is it because I'm not mentally ready for the test or something?

Am I the only who does not manage to keep concentrating for the entire test and loses conciousness on the last 2 sections?

And how do you get higher than an 8 on the writing section?

Can anyone help me?

I'm a rising junior, if it matters.

i kind of had the same thing...i thought i got a 30+ on english and ended up with a 24...math i thought i got a 25, i got a 32. essay i thought i kind a 5, but i got a 10,ETC.... i am over the act and i'll just focus on the sat

as for the writing section, look at the examples of a 6 essay printed in the ACT student guide book that you can pick up at your school. use a counter argument, several reasons for your position, etc.
