haha hao are u off to cornell if u dont get pton? u must meet up in nyc!

yeah, ill be going unless i get a fat letter from Princeton. Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing you all next year, wherever we all end up! Are you going to the scholars preview next week?

shrek...depends. my best friend is going and is pushing hard for me to go as well. however, i have a lot i want to get done at asu that i couldn't at cornell as well. if only princeton would make my choice easier :)

I'm sad, no one from the ED family is going to New Haven

enco thats cuz new haven is ghetto and its not good for kids like me =P

and new haven is for yalies...
i got rejected there... :( otherwise, i'd gladly join you

although i guess i am not sure i am apart of the "ED family"
i was a lurker then... i was there... just you didn't know it.

oh u lurkers! the concept/idea of lurkers kinda disturbs me haha

I"m sorry soanyhows, where are you going though? I'm sure somewhere GREAT :)

i think lurkers are even more dangerous than the posters w/ thousands of posts...
we just sit here and watch... watch... kind of like stalkers (at least i did) for any sign of hope, without the dignity, the courage to post ourselves.

i got into MIT. yes, i am very happy about it... but kind of scared. i really am a more liberal arts kind of a person. that is probably how i got in (i said i wanted to major in "theoretical mathematics and philosophy, i really mean it too... not too many philosophy people there i suppose). oh well... off to boston on thursday. i hope, hope i like it more than i think i will... i really think pton is a better fit... but oh well.

soanyhows...MIT is awesome. I would have applied before I realized that they have mandatory math and science classes...why was I thinking that they wouldn't? Then the app scared me away as well...

the app is kind of scary. as is the freshmen schedule...
i think (i haven't researched, and htis could be wrong) that the first bit is like this:
1st year:
fall: bio, physics I, calc I <---all mandetory
spring: chem, physics II, calc II <---more mandatory

and considering that we really only take 4 or so classes each semester... that is a lot of science/math! i mean... i like math... but ... wow... not sure i am up for that

YAY Mit is a GREAT school i'm super impressed...and MIT has a world famous philosophy department...especially in that area + linguistics

:::cringing::: that schedule hurt my eyes...and my brain as well!

soany--did you apply to any LACs?

awe, thanks guys. this is a bit reassuring...

it is really hard to just forget about pton though. :(

oh well. maybe i should make a countdown till the mailman comes (estimated time of course.)

but now i just realized i am taking a huge 10-chapter physics test during the estimated t=0... darn.

sorry, what is an LAC?

(darned 60-sec rule)...
(darn, tried it again. not up yet)
(ugh! third time. 60 sec is a long time.)

LAC = liberal arts school/college

oh, i see
well, i applied to Uchicago. that is pretty liberal arts. that is about as liberal arts as it got.

sorry, guys, familiy dinner time. be back later (of course, wanting to avoid studying at all costs)

(sixty sec rule again)

BTW, neither campus restricts visitors on campus to a degree that will truely restrict you, your girlfriend and yourself can sign eachother in and out of the dorms and many other locals.
