SAT 2 (Bio and Lit) Studying

I am so burnt out. I feel so overwhelmed and it is so difficult for me to complete a simple task like studying for a mini chemisity (non ib) quiz. I feel like I can’t do anything anymore and I am just so tired and so sick of everything. After the SAT, i was like for this weekend no more SAT **** because my mind is exploding.

To add to all this crap, I’m applying early decision to Johns Hopkins so I have my two essays and I also have to write a self reflection thing about myself in three days. And just all the work for all my IB classes is killing me.

Please help me out, advice or something because I feel like my head is going to explode and there is no way I’m accomplishing anything.

I’m also having a lot of personal issues, my mom basically abandoned me to go live in Arkansas (I live in VA) and I’m stressed out with my surrogate family and I have a lot of other pyschological issues.

To top it off, I have a cold =(
WHY CAN’T I JUST GO TO SOME COMMUNITY SCHOOL INSTEAD OF WICKED HARD SCHOOLS?!?!??!?!?

Aw... you'll get through it. I have no advice for you... I'm in the same boat feeling completely overwhelmed by all my AP classes and everything else on top of just decided recently to do EA that I haven't begun to think about.

Soon, though, it'll get easier. I keep telling myself that, anyway. I really feel like after this year, college is going to be a breeze.

Sounds like your school did a crap job of organizing the IB stuff...

We write world lit in the junior year. Same with the history paper. We do extended essay the summer before senior year (rough draft due first day back) and we have CAS deadlines due all the time.

Your test prep schedule sounds overly rigorous to me... no need to be doing one every other day. That's just a little ridic.

You should probably talk to a counselor about the rest of the stuff. That would help, I'm sure.

That's sad, because you should be enjoying your life right now, and being that stressed is not good for your health. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed myself and I barely have 1/8th of your work to do, so I can emphathize with you.

im like really busy lately as well. i had a geometry and religion test today, psat's tomorrow, chem, french and history test thurs, 5-8 pg paper due in english friday, english test friday, mun position paper due friday, religion project due next week, working sat and sun morning and giving tours at my schools open house sun afternoon.

Yeah I probably should cut down, and I really wish I could- but its easier said than done.

But on some level, I did cut down because for about a week or two I'd wake up at 4am and try to do SAT review and homework and stuff. It didn't work, AT ALL! I'd fall back asleep and be even more tired. So I wake up at 5 now and just go back to sleep once I put on my clothes and finish stuff.

One of my topic of choices is about that. lol. so meh.

Ok, take me for example... i will be honest;

I am a 14 year old sophmore:

AP Chemistry
AP Calculus
AP World History
English 2 Honors
Spanish 1
Weight Training

E.C:
-Math and Science Peer Tutoring Club(I am founder/president--- Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday after school---tutoring for community service for whole year)
-FBLA(Secretary, during friday afterschool)
-Math Club(Monday after school)
- National Honors Society

Studying currently right now for PSAT and ACT... later in year, i will study SAT 2's and AP's.

I balance this out with my obssesion with biking (hell ya'), fishing, pets, etc.

Yes, at some points, i want my life to end... but it is obviously nonsense..... everyone who wants to be successful like you feels this way...

And I mean, is what college you get into really a big deal? I know plenty of people who are successful and who've started out at a community college.

take it back a notch....do you really want to go to Johns Hopkins that bad? don't do early decision if the answer is no. take some stress out. continuing the current course won't do anything for your plight.
