wait is post #24 true? that colleges dont look at sats as a freshman?

Sorry to interrupt, but can anyone tell me what's the point of taking a language subject test if you're a native speaker? I mean it doesn't make sense. To me anyway. My guess is you show this on your app somehow, right? So that the college knows you're a native. Then it seems even more pointless. Or do you..er...hide it?

So I haven't read ever single post on this thread, but hey kid.
Hey.
1. I'm a sophomore, and I'm a native Japanese speaker.
2. My parents have been obsessing over college since I was in 7th grade. Can you believe that!? Well, it's partly because I go to an international private school in Japan, and I want to go to university in the US.
3. It's never too early to take a college tour, even if it's the summer after your freshman year.
4. It's goooood that you are starting to think about college. Ignore the people who say "START THINKING ABOUT COLLEGE WHEN YOU ARE A JUNIOR". By the time you are a junior, you are too late. It is too late. WHY? Because course registrations happen at the end of every year, and you have to take the right courses in your sophomore, junior and senior year to be considered into the top colleges. And of course, GPA-wise, EXc-wise.
5. I know how you feel, and I know it well. When my parents started obsessing over my high school life, I felt frustrated as well! If I got an A- on a test, they would freak out and say it's a "bad score". Well, technically, now I consider A- as a bad score.
6. You are off to a very fine start and just keep working on your grades. YES colleges consider your freshman year grades. You can't get into a high-level college if your freshman grades are all B's. Iwon't hurt to have to good grades as a freshman and continue to have good grades as a sophomore, junior, and senior!
7. Good luck!! You seem like a hard worker and your parents seem like they really care about you. Just work hard and get good grades, I cannot stress that enough. Join clubs you actually ENJOY. Make friends. Have fun. My freshman year I got mostly A's and A-'s and one B. I will do anything to redo ninth grade.
8. And as for your social life... it'll be okay. Just hang out with the right people, who will give you confidence, who can understand you. Don't try to hang out with people who already know they will not be able to get into a top college because of their failing grades!

This thread has been super-necroed/bumped. Everyone leave it alone and let it die for good.

I’mm baaaacccccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkk

my SAT tutor got a 780 in Bio, after taking 7th grade bio. It counted for all the colleges he applied to, win.
