I honestly don't know where to start in narrowing/picking colleges. I don't have enough money to visit campuses, so that isn't an option. I don't know whether I would thrive at a liberal arts college or a science-oriented college, because I like both equally. I guess what I'm getting at is I don't have a passion, so how can I choose? Do you guys have any matches that you can suggest from my list?

As you can see, I'm in dire need of matches. UGA is my safety, and I'm pretty content with going there. :)

Trust me, you are in a very good place if you have found a safety that you would be happy going to (especially one as great as UGA). Honestly, you would have a tough time justifying spending money to go somewhere else (if you do not get into one of your top choices) when UGA is so great academically and when you could go for free. Now, I may be in the minority and I may drink the UGA kool aid, but I would save yourself the trouble and not worry about any more matches. Truth is, there really are not many schools that are in-between your list and UGA, especially if you would be happy going there. I suppose for the sake of having another option you could apply to GT, as that would fulfill another “sciency” option.

But again, 99% of people on CC would love to have a safety they’d be content to going to. You have the hard part figured out.

Best of luck.

Aw thank you so much! (:

Yes, I would pick a couple more match colleges. Since you have a public safety that you are happy with, I’d look for some moderately selective private colleges so you can compare merit and need financial aid. There is a chance they might be able to come close to Georgia’s net price. If you want to look in eastern PA, I’d suggest Villanova, Franklin and Marshall, Bucknell, Dickinson or Lafayette.

Unless I missed it, did you say what you want to study?

Each institution is different, but there also are some things that are very similar from one to another. A visit to your closest LAC and to your closest big university can give you a sense as to whether you prefer one type over the other.

You have very good grades, and better than just decent exam scores. Since money is an issue, you should take a look at some of the threads in the Financial Aid Forum for ideas.

Good luck!

I’m hoping to major in pre-medicine or anthropology.

Thank you all for your input! (:
