I'm so nervous about getting into UF...

I applied for Chemical Engineering, and a friend told me that it was harder to get into ChemE than my other choice (Biochemistry). Now I'm worried that my chances for UF aren't good.. I submitted my app yesterday, and here are my stats:

4.1 weighted
3.5 unweighted

SAT: 1980 (2040 super-scored)
ACT: 30

AP Scores: 3,3,3,4,4. I am withholding one of them..
SAT Subject test scores: 710 Chemistry and 660 Math II

Extracurriculars:

a few officer positions
track and tennis (JV)
200 hours of community service

I'm Bolivian if that helps at all.

Is there any way that I can change my major after I send my app?? Or am I just over-reacting..? Please help.. I'm really nervous about getting in.

also I’m sorry I post a lot, I just really want to get into this school…

ufiscool I have one bit of advice for you.

Pack your bags and make sure to pack plenty of orage and blue. You will be a Gator. Your stats are perfect for UF.

So forget being nervous and concentrate on writting the essay of your life.

thank you so much. That really made me feel better. I wrote my essay about seeing poverty in my home country, and how it inspired me to become a doctor. I hope UF likes it. I tried to put in as much as I can in under 500 words.

your major is not a factor in admissions. anyone who tells you otherwise is misinformed.

I’m hoping to get accepted too, but for sociology! let us know when you hear something! goodluck!

Your major doesn’t count for admissions because that is after your first two years. If you don’t get in, then you must appeal, because your chances are literally 95%. Although your SATs aren’t perfect, UF is not even close to a perfect school. UF is not harvard, and its not even the top ranked school in Florida anymore.

indianaguy UF is not ranked higher because of budget cuts and reasons are not in their control.

but trust me ask any recruiter or headhunter where they recruit for their top positions and UF would be #1 all the time.
