I'm so scared about my GPA!

Basically, my GPA is horrible for where I want to go to school(Tufts, William and Mary, Lehigh, Boston College, and NYU). I have a 3.25 as a Sophmore.

I am taking difficult classes now- Honors Chemistry, Honors Bio 2, Honors English, and Latin 3. I finished APUSH with a B :(

What I'm scared about is that even if I get straight As next year, I won't be able to reach a 3.6 and most definitely won't reach a 3.7. Is this true? What can I get it to if I get all As? I'm on block scheduling so I have those 40 credits to go for next year. For the end of this year I will probably raise my GPA to a 3.3.

I took the SATs as a freshman and scored a 2150 and I'm hoping that by junior year I'll reach a 2250(I've been working rigorously to higher my scores).

Can I even raise my GPA to a 3.5?

I realize the SATS will set my apart but is it possible for me to get into any of the schools listed above?

My classes for next year go like this:
Trig and Analysis(usually taken as a senior)
AP English Language
AP European History
French 1 and 2(3 and 4 senior year)
Gym
Honors organic chem
World History

PLEASE HELP, I am freaking out and I don't know what to do!!

you’re insane for worrying. junior year take the PSAT, become a national merit winner, keep your grades up as high as possible, write a kick-butt essay and you’ll be in at all those schools

With the exception of Tufts, a 2300+ and a 3.4 will probably get you in at all of those schools. And Honors Organic Chem as a Junior? That is a 200-level class at most colleges. That’s fairly eye popping.

Thanks guys I’m just so mad because I know I’m a good student and I want colleges to see that too (:

And yeah I love chemistry and I did a program at Johns Hopkins which really got me interested in Organic Chem (:

make sure ur 11th grade is really good.
i was in a similar situation, my sopho year was around the 3.6ish
this year(11) i have a 4.0 UW with all honors and AP’s.
MAKE SURE U DO WELL IN UR JUNIOR YEAR !!!

colleges look at 11th grade alot more than sophomore year!!
freshman year barely even counts. but freshman year still averages in ur ranking so yeah.

I was in the same situation, 3.2-3.3 at the end of sophomore year. I got serious, took hard classes, and got a 3.6 UW. It’s possible, and you should have a chance at getting into these schools.
