I was planning on applying to three public state schools after this fall semester (I go to CC). I took three classes: Math, Biology, and Composition 2. I got an A in biology, a B or B+ in Comp, but I got a D in math, because math is my weakest subject. I still have a decent GPA for the state schools, a 2.8. The only bad grade is my D. I was going to wait until May to apply to the colleges, after the fall semester, but I called the admissions offices of the colleges I want to apply to, and they said that they wouldn't advise me waiting until May to apply.
I really don't want to have to stay at CC for another year and a half just because of one math class. Should I just apply to the colleges with my D? My other final grades are decent, I have 1 C+, 2 C's, 4 B's, and 3 A's. And one D.

There is no harm in applying now, as long as they are not extremely selective colleges. The average college realizes that not everyone is great in every subject. As long as you are not applying for a field that uses a great deal of math, it probably will not be a big problem.

My biggest problem is trying to be perfect in life, but I’m working on trying to realize that it’s okay to make mistakes.
I am also probably going to write an essay, explaining why I got the D.
The colleges are not very selective. The acceptance rates are between 64% and 76%.
And my intended major is psychology.
