justforgetme is not kidding. Even some TFs will tell you so!

Some of us try to do all of it. :-P

Haha, Saxfreq, you saw me and all of my blockmates in Lamont that night before finals. Clearly, my ability to focus is less than stellar.

Some of us try to do all of it. :-P

I think I was the only person in my section of "Shakespeare: the Later Plays" who actually read every play! And I didn't even get an A. Anyway, in most courses I couldn't even have come close to doing all the reading.

Hahahaha. Keyword TRY!!

There was one class I hardly did ANY reading for.

The biggest downside to taking 5 classes is that when they're all graded, and they're all time-consuming, it's simply impossible to get everything done. And I think that's true across the board, for humanities, math/sciences, social sciences.

On the bright side, it's fun knowing that my gpa will never be as high as it was in high school. :-)

you guys say that you don't do all the reading and stuff, so does your GPA suffer because of it?

my parents expect me to pull at least a 3.7 (if possible)

Not if you're doing it correctly.

Sometimes you'll encounter readings that just aren't necessary, or that are only necessary for section participation. But you can participate with the readings that you /do/ read, or save those readings for reading period. (readings readings readings. I used that word too many times in this post!)

Don't worry hotpiece101, Harvard classes are graded on a curve, and all the boys in your classes will probably be too busy focusing on your "assets" to pay attention to the class lectures. The remaining girls will be upset and jealous over all the attention that you will get from the guys so they won't be focusing on the professors notes either, leaving you with the highest grade VOILA!!!;)

PS Not all classes are curved.

Amen to that. I could have used a curve in some classes :P

Ive had the same worry for a while now too (well actually I go back and forth from being nervous to excited). I mean some of the people starting in the fall have accomplished so much and although I thought I had done quite a bit, it seems so minuscule in comparison.

I love to shop and party too though, so your not alone with that. Of course, my two best friends will be close by at BU, so that makes me feel better.

as previously mentioned, what's a "normal" person at harvard?
