<p>I plan on majoring in physics and engineering (possibly Statistics) and both colleges have degrees for any of these. I don't care about student/party life and tuition prices are about the same, so really I just want to compare their academics for these majors. Any ideas?</p>
<p>UMCP is harder to get into for engineering. Apply to both and see what happens. Also UMCP has more types of engineering majors and is much higher ranked. If you want civil engineering then UMCP because it isn’t offered at UMBC. Visit both and talk to profs and students. They are very different schools.</p>
