I'm Stupid But...How Do You Do That Quote Thing!?

I feel like I'm missing something, and I'm probably stupid, but can someone please clue me in: HOW ON EARTH do you make those little quote boxes? You know, when you want to reply to a specific comment someone made before you, and you put it in a box that says "quote" and offsets it? I have no idea how to do this. Help!

Sorry for my idiocy.

thanks for asking I was wondering the same thing LOL

LOL, yay I'm not alone!

Haha, do this, but without the stars:
WHATEVER YOU WANNA QUOTE!
It will look like this:

I feel very enlightened now. Thank you very much cdover!

:) That's okay. Have fun!...not too much though.

You can also include a link to the quoted post. This is very useful if you're quoting a post from another thread.
Blahblahblah
For example, hovering the cursor over raelah's post reveals the post # to be 1061907411.
I feel like I'm missing something...
Just testing

Wow, I did not know that. Thanks IBclass06.

Cool, thanks

Ooo I've never known how to do this either. Let's practice...

how do you find the post number?
