Because I just picked up a bunch of 9x12 manilla clasp envelopes for teacher recs and stuff. Thought I read something about not folding papers, so I said why not >_>

Uhh, I didn't use 9 x 12. Oops.

eh...this is why they have online apps

generally, they dont want folds just because it makes 2000 letters look like 4000 letters...but they wont not admit you if you dont

do whatever makes your heart happy

It's probably not that big a deal. But we used 9x12 envelopes for the guidance counselor/school report/official transcript and standard No. 10 envelopes for the teacher recs.

I use large envelopes because of the folding issue and because they're harder to lose.

yes, but you still need envelopes for teachers and other supplements that need to be mailed.
you could probably use regular envelopes, but I think 9x12 just looks a little better, and things aren't folded.

it doesn't matter i don't think. i saw my teacher's stack of recommendations and the envelope size varied. i turned in a 9X12 though

four of my colleges included application envelopes in the viewbooks that were much smaller than 9x12--i think they were 9x6, because i folded everything in half and it was fine. if the ones they include require folding, it can't be the worst college app sin to fold
