MIT FOR NON ENGINEERS? i visisted...i loved it! the atmosphere was amazing, right in the heart of the city, beautiful campus, spilling with innovation. butt...i dont think i want to be an engineer? do non-engineers enjoy this experience... i mean i think i do want to go in a math/sci field, not for sure though, maybe business...so any advice from experience?

Only about half of the students at MIT are engineers. Departments such as chemistry, biology, math, physics, neuroscience are all among the best in addition to business. You can even major in linguistics or philosophy.

You definitely don't need to be a prospective engineer to come to MIT -- as cellardwellar noted, MIT is outstanding in math and science the same way it's outstanding for engineering, and the management program is excellent, too.

My only warning is that you need to be pretty comfortable with being an engineer, scientist, or businessperson to seriously consider MIT -- although humanities and social science majors exist at MIT, and many of them are quite strong (economics, political science, linguistics, philosophy), students who are truly undecided on a general major field can be very unhappy if they get to MIT and decide that science and engineering aren't for them.
