I'm taking AP Biology next year but I haven't taken Pre-AP Biology

It is a bit early to be thinking about this but next school year (2015-16) I'll be a junior. I hope to take AP Biology.

The counselors have explicitly stated that we shouldn't take AP Biology without Pre-AP and that we will probably fail AP Biology without prior knowledge. The AP Biology teacher also assumes that everyone has taken Pre-AP Biology so she'll probably move fast and not explain things that were in Pre-AP Biology.

I started worrying about this again because I am currently taking AP Chemistry but I have already taken Chemistry and I know that one person in my class hasn't taken Chemistry and I was just thinking about how lost they must be since they have no background in Chemistry.

So what do you suggest I do starting now that will better prepare me for AP Biology?

Honestly, don’t worry about it at all! I took AP Biology sophomore year without any prior classes in the subject and I got an A in the class and a 5 on the exam. I didn’t do anything extra to prepare (we just had to read the first 6 chapters of the textbook as summer work, which I did).
If you want to get ahead of the game though, maybe try finding some videos, such as on Khan Academy or Bozeman (<a href=“AP Biology — bozemanscience”>http://www.bozemanscience.com/ap-biology/</a>). I’m assuming that the “pre-AP” class is the equivalent of an honors level biology course, so its probably unnecessary to try learning with AP level review books, especially considering that most information will be in depth yet introduced in a concise manner (after all it is meant for review, not teaching), making it confusing.

Thanks.
