Precalc is a waste. It's too easy. However, I am just going to skip AB next year. Might-as-well just jump into BC. Precalc is laying down the foundation now.

I took Linear Algebra before Multivariable, but that's because the University of Minnesota system is kind of set up like that...

Anyway, try your state U. They usually have more options.

Why do you take Calc AB AND Calc BC? I thought it was supposed to be either/or. BC is just AB and a few extra topics, no? If you planned on taking both, I think it would make more sense just to take BC.

@ Modulation. Wait, you're in UMTYMP??!
shweeet. :)

well in my school they are diff classes. When i took AB as a soph there was no BC class. then the teacher decided to make a BC class that only covered the BC topics and of course a quick review on the AB topics. So now kids in my school take AB then BC. Some kids who are too scared to take bc at our school chicken out and take it was community college or our local state U.
Our BC class is intense because its on a curve and some of the best math students in our school are in it. the class is also very small.

Yeah, so I talked to my parents about it, and they don't want me to take any online courses because they're not "true classes." And "Appletree CC" doesn't want to comply with my requests.
There is another community college in my town, but it's not open to high school students. My last resort would be to take it at UAA, which is a 40 minute drive away, in a class with 500 people in it. Is it really worth the time and gas money?

Will quitting math all together just be okay?

It's unfortunate your parents feel that way.

The issue is what you are planning to major in and what schools you are looking at.

No, that's not the issue. He's taken enough math for any college for any major.

That's tough. I would say that you should definitely try and find a math class to take somewhere next year, but I would also say that it's probably not worth the trouble for UAA.

I'm going to assume you've taken Stats because you said you've taken every class at your school. I guess the next best thing is to try and find math-powered science classes that you haven't taken yet.

It's not really the amount of math per se. Top schools expect those who want to major in science or math to take as much math as possible.

Too far ahead in math? You should come tutor me! :D

That'll give you something to do! :P hahah
