i'm trippin, tumbling, clumsy...

hi guys
i'm taking math level 2 in may, and i've only taken up to algebra 2 in math, and i didnt take a math this year, i have the REA math level 2 book, any suggestions in how i can prepare myself? i've read a few pages in, and i'm already lost

Post your questions here. And we will help.

i dont understand cos sin and all that stuff, i have no precal experience

sin would be opposite/hypotenuse
cos - adjacent/hypotenuse
tan - opp/adj

csc - hyp/opp
sec - hyp/adj
cot - adj/opp

i recommend you ask your teacher teach you the basic about precal, because you will need to learn alot of stuff and i doubt you have the time to learn a whole course in a matter of a month without serious help.

perhaps you should just take Math level 1 (not that you can't succeed in Math II, but it would be much easier for you to do Math I...and less stressful).

Good luck...

uc's want math level 2 right?

apparently not if you're going into humanities.

yes if you want to be an engineer/doctor/business person.

can i apply for that major, then switch after freshmen?

It's really hard to switch into engineering from a non-engineering major. And I'm not sure if they accept the math 1 exam. I don't think they do, but you should double check.

do you know about the unit circle and radians?

If this is the level you're at, you may want to reconsider taking math 2. I doubt you'll be able to learn it well enough by May.

am i still able to switch? i already signed up for it

yeah you can change at the testing center

so humanities doesnt require math 2 for uc's? i'm confused

UC Notes - March 2005 - testing

some info on SAT II, check it out, gives specific SAT II requirements for the type of degree.

About UC's.

Two SAT Subject Tests.
These must be in two different areas, chosen from the following: English, history and social studies, mathematics (Level 2 only), science or language other than English.

Math 1 doesn't matter for the UC's
