I'm trying to decide if I should apply ED2

SAT: M:720 CR:730 W:740
SAT II: US Hist:720 Math2:710 Spanish: 690
GPA: 3.8 uw
Rank: 68/475 (bad semester explained by counselor)
APs: 11 total (four 5's, a 3, and a 1)
very rigorous courseload

4 yrs marching band (squad leader 2 yrs)
3 yrs as peer tutor (secretary and recruitment officer 1 yr)
VP of Environmental Club
2 yrs Key Club
3 yrs tennis (cocaptain 1 yr)
National Honor Society
AP Scholar with Distinction

essays: common app essay very personal and pretty strong. supplement about my environmental philosophy.

1 teacher rec very strong, the other one positive, but not very well-written or insightful.

potential major: environmental studies and/or anthropology/sociology

I'm also applying to Yale and Amherst, both of which I would be happy to go to. I love Middlebury though. Would my chance be better if I applied ED or RD?

Only apply to Middlebury ED II if you're sure you want to go there. If you get accepted ED II, you'll need to withdraw all of your other applications.

i've heard that they accept a smaller percentage of ED2 applicants than they do for ED1 or RD. Is this true?

I'm curious as to the answer to his or her second question as well. Bump

It's a smaller percentage, but it's still a pretty good percentage.

^What's the advantage of ED II over RD? It seems like a pointless option from the applicant's perspective unless they go easier on you or offer more FinAid.

would you still go to middlebury if you got into yale and amherst?

Depends on your other choices. If you like to be close to quality skiing, go for it.......
