With all the 2399s people seem to be getting, my lowly score of 2220 makes Harvard, Yale, Brown et al seem rather impossible!

Do I still stand a chance of sorts?

Of course, and you know that. They look at much more than scores. And as long as you have >2200 or so, your chances are by no means diminished. Just try to make up the tiny bit of difference in your college essays and the rest of the application.

you're lovely, thanks. (:

since i got only 1990, with cr 650, writing 670 and math 670, does it mean i can say bye bye to ivy league already??

^No.

I'm pretty sure SAT scores don't make or break your application even in Ivys.

A 1990 can pretty much assume they won't be admitted unless they have something super going for them in other areas

once you're above like 2200 it' basically all the same.
plus SAT's are no where near as important as GPA, rank, ec's, awards, essays, and other things that give an image of you as a person.
a number on one test on a random saturday morning (especially when it's as high as yours) will NOT hurt your application

LOL i came to this thread ready to console a <1900 or something. honestly!

i think 2200 is amazing and just like what everyone else is sayin, i'm SURE u'll be fine! the colleges will not only look at ur SAT scores but lots of other things too. a score like that -- ur a competitive applicant

To the person who asked about a 1900 from experience at an urban school I think anyone with maybe 1700+ can get in but it depends a lot on your background, grades, and essays. Mainly background.

Dude. All of these schools have SAT ranges that include 2200, actually well below that. even the height of prestige, harvard (yuck, i hate harvard... haha..) has a TWENTY FIVE PERCENTILE at 2090

what if you got a 2200+ the first time, but only got 2000+ the second time? how much does that hurt you?

TTwhite -- lol speaking of those 'statistics' that schools post on their websites...sometimes i wonder if they'r real or not...i always imagine schools like harvard would never even look at a person w/ a below 2100. but i guess they do. it makes me feel better actually. not that i would apply to harvard

i don't think it'll hurt you. there's no reason. i mean ur obviously capable of a 2200+. so maybe u were havin a bad day on the day of the test?...brain freeze? hungry? lol

wow...i just got a 2200 and i'm ecstatic about it...get a life..lol
