Hi guys,
I’m visiting on Friday…any suggestions for what I should definitely see/do (besides taking the campus tour, which I’m doing)?

On Friday, check out The Hungry Woman if you're interested in theater.

Wander around the campus, stop random students, and ask them questions. Chances are they'll be happy to talk to you, or, if they don't have time, point you in the direction of someone who does. Really! Brown students are nice!

Go into random buildings and see what they're like inside. Have dinner on Thayer street.

Use BOCA to check for classes that meet on Fridays (A through G hours as well as O hour). If anything looks interesting to you, by all means email the professor, tell them you're checking out the school, and ask if you can observe the class. Chances are they'll say yes, and they might even offer to meet with you before or after to talk about your academic interests.

I have Econ (intro) on Friday morning at 11, and a discussion section for Ethics and Public Policy in which we'll be discussing global poverty, at 1 pm. If either of those interest you, pm me and I'd be happy to arrange to meet with you and take you to class with me.

Thanks for your help, ILoveBrown...I would love to sit on a class, but I don't know how much time I"ll have before/after the tour. Also, how do you think I should talk to the students (do I just randomly pick somebody to stop? What do I even say? lol I just don't want to creep anybody out) :)

Yeah, pick somebody who doesn't look like they're in a hurry. Or, better yet, pick a group of friends who look like they're having fun together, relaxing on the green. You'll get a bunch of different perspectives, all at once!

hey this is cool. I am visiting Brown on Friday as well.
