Hi guys, I'm so excited about going to Rice but now I'm awfully worried. I used to get straight As but last semester I got straight Bs. Weighted, my grades last semester came close to a 4.0 because 4 of my 5 classes were APs, but this semester I'm doing much worse. Again, 4 of my 5 classes are APs, but my grades are low. What are the rules for having admission rescinded? Thank you! :-)

On a somewhat same point, has anyone heard of someone ever getting their admission rescinded from Rice?

you won't get kicked out until you get half C's

Generally, you won't even get kicked out if you get half C's. If you were to get half C's, you might get a letter saying, "Hey... What's up with this? If you don't shape up when you get here, we're going to have to have a little chat."

Don't worry about B's. It's not a problem.

I love you guys, thank you so much. I hope I get to meet some of you in August.

i got in with an F (though later got changed to a D) AND two C's. to be rescinded that person must have worse grades than these.

Okay I finally got my grades. I got a D-, three C-, and one C. All of the Cs were AP courses, so I should get the extra point for them. Should I call Rice and inform them about my awful awful grades?

They get your final grades, there is no need to call them. I can't imagine what you could say that could improve your lot. I sure as hell wouldn't bring anything to their attention now. Anyway, if the grades above are not your averages and your averages are a little higher than that, you'll definitely be fine. Don't sweat it.
