lots of people go to good colleges w/o any sports. nerdy is cool, but I wouldn't encourage you to be the type that dosen't talk to people, and just studies in the library 24/7.

what about ivy leagues?

Yeah, the Ivy League is a sports conference, but the Ivy schools accept a lot of non-athletes.

if you dont play a varsity sport, then you cant get into college, sorry

Get some meat on those bones and join a weight lifting class. Or I know a lot of kids like you who join cross country. Don't need any skills to run..pretty straight forward.

haha.......do cross country...

You are at no disavantage at Ivy League colleges if you don't play sports, as long as you have other strong EC's on your applicaton, as well as top grades, stats, etc. Son didn't have an athletic bone in his body and was accepted at Dartmouth and Brown.

Do sports anyway for your health. And cross country is not as easy as it seems. Sure you can join the team, but being a distinguished member in long-distance running takes a lot of discipline and dedication.

Cross Country just shows you how much you can push yourself, and I will admit that it looks difficult at times.
Check out the x-country team at your school. It's only beneficial for you in many aspects.

I'm an xc runner with decent times - varsity and such - but I'm not a county champion or anything.
Do I still end up getting credit for a good EC? It still takes up alot of time..

for sure, even if you don't get recruited
