<p>I live 15 minutes from Stanford and I'm on campus all the time. Some people have crazy nice cars and some have normal cars and some are junky. It depends on the person. Some kids are putting themselves through college and can't afford a nicer car. Also, the through traffic is INCREDIBLE, there are so many non-students on campus because there is the shopping center, etc. that you will have a huge range of car styles. No one will care.
Plus... gas is SOOOO EXPENSIVE IN NORCAL!!!</p>
<p>Whatever you do, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT, get a vanity license plate!</p>
<p>When I was going into school one evening last year, I saw an undergrad parking in the same lot as mine with a brand new beemer. The license plate said 'Daddys$$" or something of the likes. Whenever I see an undergrad with a brand new luxury car, I usually think for a second, gosh another undergrad with rich parents, but that girl really takes the cake!</p>
<p>"Old" was a misnomer. I'm saying that it's not new....of course there's ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with a 98 toyota because they will run forever as long as you keep feeding them gas...</p>
