<p>I am not sure why you think you would run into troubles at BC. Any top university is going to have a smart and tolerant student body. Jesuits are no different from any other religious group. I am sure students of all faiths and orientation can make BC their home. If you like the campus (and BC does have a great campus), don't let the fact that the school is affiliated to a church intimidate or discourage you.</p>

<p>According to the one person I know who went to BC for undergrad (who is bi and liberal and was a theater major), the students were fine, as far as attitudes toward LBGT people and people of different faiths went, and most were pretty liberal. She said, though, that the faculty and especially the administration tended to be more conservative (socially - a lot of Jesuits are very liberal when it comes to economic issues).</p>
<p>Her experience, of course, may not be representative, but maybe if enough people post anecdata you can get a decent picture.</p>
<p>I come from a very liberal and diverse (though private and religious) high school, and we've had several people go to Boston College in the last three years. So far, no one I know has had a problem.</p>
