I submitted my FAFSA January first and I just made a small correction. Now, I need to sign it again using my FSA ID. My FSA ID works fine but when my parents sign it it keeps saying wrong information. We used the same exact log in and everything is 100% correct. It let my parents sign the first time but now they can’t anymore after I made the correction. I sent them e-mail and they redirected me to their FAQ. Not helpful at all. Any ideas?
You need tow FSA ID, one for you and one for your parent.
You can call fafsa and speak to somebody. They will look at your fafsa with you and help fix the problem.
There is a parent 1 and parent 2 on the FAFSA. Make sure the FSA ID matches the name, soc sec # and birthdate of the correct parent
@BrownParent We have two IDs. @mommdc The information matches the name, soc. sec. #, and birthdate. Still getting error.
They have made this process impossible. As I recall there are two IDs and also 2 different passwords and they both need to be “verified” which slows the process for a few days.
I am going to call tomorrow.
I had to call fafsa for help - on New Years Day in fact - and the wait was not bad and the agent was very helpful.
We had something similar and I think the problem for us is that Parent 1 is me and I don’t have the FAFSA ID, but parent 2, my wife does. So I think if I click signature is from parent 2 and use her ID, all will be good. (Again, not sure if that’s your issue but make sure you click the correct parent versus the ID that will be entered)
