i m currently studying in grade 11 in bangladesh nd will be immigrating to US in JUNE nd i want to continue grade 12 there.....what are the things i need to take wid me so that i cn convert my works here to credits in US? additionally what do i need to bring along for applying in college? do i need letters of recommendation frm my currnt school,or will dey be provided by my future schul in US ?

I would get maybe 2 letters of recommendation from 2 teachers at your current school to be on the safe side. other than that, just bring over your transcript and you’ll be fine for college

EDIT: also contact the school you’re planning on intending to ask them for more information if you need it. how old are you? there’s an age cut-off date for entering grades in the US. if you’re too old or too young, they’ll probably let you go into 12th grade, since you’re coming from a different country, but I would make sure, just in case

thnks for ur response…ill be getting two letters right away nd my schul is already preparing the transcripts…i m 17 now…will be 18 in june…
one more ques:
i have already given SAT (cr:550, wr:610 -essay:8,maths-800) shld i shw dem as well?

you don’t need to show them the SAT score.

do u have any suggestion on hw cn i improve my chances of getting into colleges?

erikkk You should definitely attempting to improve your spelling and grammar.

^ Agreed. From the letters you’re missing out it looks intentional, but either way it’s incredibly annoying to read

sorry for that…i will keep that in mind from the next time…can any one of u give me a proper idea on how can i convert my O level and As level grades to calculate my GPA ?

We don’t have a clue because we don’t know what your curriculum is or how it compares to ours.

I assume you’re in a curriculum similar to the UK one?
You can’t just work out a gpa from exam results though, gpa is a number based on every bit of work you do in the course, therefore your gpa will only be for the time you’re in the US.
However you may be able to get credit for your courses, as AS’ are generally considered the same standard as 12th grade classes, but this will probably depend on the HS you’re going to and the universities you will apply for.

Sorry I can’t help more, you can try the international section and see if they can tell you anything more.
